JAMB been the acronym for Joint Admission and Matriculation Board or Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as some people call it is an institution established by the Nigeria Federal Government.

Requirements for JAMB Registration 2025/2026

To register for 2025 JAMB examination, candidates must meet these key criteria as failure to do so makes you ineligible.

1. Age Limit

The federal government of Nigeria in line with JAMB made it compulsory that candidates taking UTME must be at least eighteen (18) years old. Intending applicants who do not meet the age threshold are not permitted to register for JAMB in 2025.

2. National Identification Number (NIN)

It is now mandatory to have the 11-digit National Identification Number as it ascertains your citizenship status. You can get yours easily by visiting NIMC enrollment center or register online via NIMC mobile application.

It is through your NIN that you will be able to create JAMB profile code which is the first thing before proceeding to the rest of the application process.

3. JAMB Profile Code

Your unique JAMB identification number is called profile code. This will be sent to you immediately after you send your NIN to either 55019 or 66019 via SMS. A N50 charge is applied to the SMS therefore ensure you have enough airtime.

4. Phone Number/Email

You need a valid and active phone number and email address. JAMB registration is now fully automated therefore your access to the application portal and subsequent notification will be done via email or mobile number.

5. O/A Level Result

Without O’level or A’level result there’s no need to talk about JAMB registration or examination. It is expected that candidates finished their secondary education and have a minimum of five (5) credit passes including Mathematics and English in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or GCE.

6. JAMB e-PIN

After getting your profile code and other criteria , the next step is to get JAMB e-voucher which enables you register for the examination. The e-PIN cost N3,500 and one is enough for your registration.

Misplacing your JAMB e-PIN before commencing registration means you will have to buy another one for the same N3,500.

If you’re interested in taking the MOCK examination then you can still get the e-PIN for that which is N1,500.

7. Bio Data

The last requirements is creating a bio data for JAMB database. This includes your name, date of birth, state of origin, local government, passport photograph, signature and biometric.
